The Port of Livorno posts 2016 box volumes up to 2,5%
The Port of Livorno has reported record container throughput levels for 2016. The number of loaded boxes was up 2,5% year on year to 800.475 teu surpassing the previous record set in 2015 of 780.874 Teu 20ft units. Total cargo handled amounted to 32,8m tonnes, up to 0,3%.

The port of Livorno to invest in intermodal links with a 40m euros rail infrastructure that will link the port to the national network. Gallanti: "Investments in the port will add to capacity and allow more traffic to and from the terminals".
